Douglasville is a city in Georgia which was named after General Stephen Douglas. The city has a rich history with many events that shaped its legacy.

The "old" Douglas County Courthouse is a historic courthouse at 6754 West Broad Street in DouglasvilleGeorgiaUnited States.  The courthouse was built in 1956, after the 1896 courthouse burned down. It was built where three prior courthouses originally stood. It was designed in the International Style by Harry E. Roos, Jr. of Southern Engineering.

The old courthouse was labeled "surplus" and intended for sale and disposal when the new courthouse opened in 1998. Because of its unusual architectural style, the Douglas County Tourism and History Commission urged the Board of Commissioners to save the structure, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Douglas County Museum of History and Art is presently housed in the Old Courthouse.

There are many other buildings that have great styles too such as The Art Deco style of the American Legion building or even early 1900s bungalows with porches on every side--a staple of Georgia architecture.
